    How fast does the pad wear? I'm trying to decide if I need to order a replacement pad. Is there a grooved edge to get between the boards? Also, I am not a professional, may I place an order as a homeowner?

      That would depend on the condition of your wood? Rough wood is much harder on the pads then a newer smooth deck. There is not an edge. We sell online to all.

      Yes, it works with water-based stains. Most throw away the pad and use a replacement pad for future use.
