SB-7700 Joint Stabilizing Sealer is a water-based, single component, self-crosslinking acrylic co-polymer sealer and joint sand stabilizer with outstanding durability. SB-7700 is specially formulated with an antifungal designed to help inhibit the growth of mold, moss and algae on the sealer film when applied to horizontal or vertical surfaces. This product can be used inside and outside, on old and new pavements, sealing the surface and stabilizing joint sand at the same time. It can be applied immediately after paver installation, as it is breathable and will not trap the naturally occurring efflorescence. SB-7700 will also protect the surface from salts, acids and other corrosive chemicals as well as help to provide easier maintenance and to minimize overall surface weathering and deterioration. SB-7700 is non-hazardous and exceeds all VOC/EPA standards. SB-7700 has the consistency of water and is milky white in appearance when applied and then dries clear, creating an enhanced look with gloss finish. SB-7700 is a single application product. Cured sealer is freeze resistant to -60°F (-51°C) and is stable up to a temperature of 180°F (82°C).
Joint Stabilizing Sealers can be used just as a sealer for pavers, concrete and other masonry surfaces without joint sand stabilization.
Suitable Surfaces
Ideal for shaded areas, pool decks, outdoor showers and other areas where mildew, fungus and algae are a concern. Suitable for concrete and clay pavers, decorative or plain concrete, masonry, natural or manufactured stone, unglazed tile and terrazzo.
Preparation:
Where necessary, remove all curing compounds or visible signs of staining and efflorescence with SB-488 Efflorescence & Rust Remover. The pavement surface should be clean, dry and free from oil, dust and any loose material. If necessary, use SureClean to clean pavers (refer to label and data sheet for guidelines). If using on interlocking pavers, the paver joints should be completely filled with dry, correctly graded jointing sand with the top level not exceeding the bottom of the chamfer or 1/8” below the surface on non-beveled or tumbled paver surface. A leaf blower is the recommended method to remove dust and fine sand particles from the surface and achieve the optimum joint sand height.
Application Information:
For interlocking pavers, apply liberally and evenly with a siphon pump, bulk sprayer or hand-held garden sprayer. Flood joints to ensure proper sand penetration and stabilization and use a soft foam squeegee to direct excess material into the joints and to remove all excess material from the surface. For concrete, saturate the surface of the concrete and use a lambs wool applicator or paint roller to ensure proper coverage and remove any excess material from the surface. Use coverage guidelines to determine the correct amount of material for the project. Material coverage varies depending on surface porosity.
Coverage Per Gallon:
100-150 square feet depending on substrate porosity.
As soon as the first coat is dry.
