It you remove all previous coatings then apply a penetrating stain properly, you will not have anymore issues with peeling.

I used Woodguard stain on my deck. Wooks great on the log cabin but I think is is keeping the subsequent stains I have used on my cedar deck from penetrating...they just sit there and peel afet a wet, snowy winter. Will a deck sripper penetrate succiciently to allow a deck stain to get into the wood and stay?

Yes they are both biodegradeable and can be used on all types of exterior wood including cedar.

The stripper is best applied with a pump sprayer, As for scrubbing the stain off, it depends on the brand of stain and how many cots you have. Stains that are more stubborn to remove may require a pressure washer.

The brightener is not scrubbed. Just apply the the brightener, wait 10 minutes, the rinse off. Easiest step.
